جسر التواصل/ الرباط: وكالات حذر الاتحاد الأوروبي، الاثنين، إسرائيل من شن هجوم على رفح وصفه وزراء خارجية التكتل بأنه سيمثل كارثة لنحو 1.5 مليون لاجئ في المدينة، مشددين على دعوتهم إلى وقف إنساني فوري لإطلاق النار في غزة. وقال وزير الخارجية الأيرلندي مايكل مارتن، قبل اجتماع مع وزراء خارجية الاتحاد الأوروبي في بروكسل: الهجوم على رفح سيكون كارثياً تماماً. سيكون غير معقول.

وبعد انتهاء المحادثات، قال جوزيب بوريل مسؤول السياسة الخارجية بالاتحاد الأوروبي، إن 26 دولة من دول الاتحاد الأوروبي البالغ عددها 27، وافقت على بيان يحذر إسرائيل من شن أي هجوم على رفح. وأضاف أن البيان يدعو إلى هدنة إنسانية فورية من شأنها أن تؤدي إلى وقف مستدام لإطلاق النار، والإفراج غير المشروط عن الرهائن وتقديم المساعدة الإنسانية.
